GMC Sierra Towing Support Features

Certainly, the powertrains offered by the 2022 GMC Sierra 1500 provide the bulk of the platform’s capabilities. However, the manufacturer has developed and implemented a couple of systems that will make towing the heaviest loads easier, and ultimately, safer.

First, GMC has made the GM Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system available on some of the 2022 Sierra 1500’s trims. While this technology has been around for a while, 2022 will be the first model year when it’s available with the brand’s full-size pickup truck. More importantly, the system will work when the 2022 Sierra 1500 is pulling a trailer – allowing it to maintain set speeds and perform hands-free lane changes.

GMC has equipped the 2022 Sierra 1500 with a huge array of cameras, providing up to 14 views of the area surrounding the truck. The towing connection comes with the available transparent trailer view that provides a view of the area behind the trailer.
