2024 Chevy Silverado EV Towing Information

The Chevrolet Silverado EV crawling through the woods.

How Much Will the Chevrolet Silverado EV Tow?

Every day that goes by is another day we are closer to seeing the 2024 Chevrolet Silverado EV appear in the Ernie Dean GM showroom. When it’s finally available for purchase, it will completely change the way we look at pickup truck design and capability for the rest of our lives. We should make clear that the 2024 Silverado EV is not a hybrid platform. There is no gasoline engine under the hood. It is a 100 percent electric vehicle that uses precisely zero gasoline. It’s completely understandable that some future customers might have questions about its performance. More specifically, how much will the Chevy Silverado EV tow? Let’s take a closer look.

“The Silverado EV is redefining the boundaries of the full-size pickup segment, taking what you thought was possible and completely breaking the mold,” Michael MacPhee, brand director, Chevrolet Canada, said in a press release.

2024 Silverado EV Towing Capacity Estimates

Chevrolet will release the consumer-focused RST trim grade first. It will offer up to 4,534 kg (10,000 lbs.) of towing capacity. Shortly after launch, Chevy will start producing the work-focused WT trim that is expected to deliver up to 9,071 kg (20,000 lbs.) of towing. The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV uses a series of electric motors to create up to 660 horsepower and 780 pound-feet of torque.

Payload-Hauling Capacity

A pickup truck’s cargo bed is its defining feature. The 2024 Chevy Silverado EV also offers plenty of payload-hauling capacity. Up to 590 kg (1,300 lbs.) can be hauled in the cargo bed, which is nearly 6 feet long. However, if future Silverado EV owners have longer items to move, the Multi-Flex Mid-Gate can be opened and the rear seats folded down to accommodate items measuring more than 3 metres (10 feet) long.

When people learn more about the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV, they first ask, ‘What is under the hood, since there is no engine.’ Chevy engineers used the area that would normally be filled by an engine with a large storage compartment. The exact dimensions are not yet available, but it will be perfect for keeping luggage or tools secure and away from inclement weather.

We will share more information about the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV as it becomes available. If you want to own one as soon as possible, make an appointment with an Ernie Dean GM product expert, today, to start the reservation process.
