On Saturday, December 14th, the Ernie Dean Team partook in the first ever Curling Bonspiel for our Christmas Party! For those of you who aren’t curling aficionados, ‘Bonspiel’ means tournament, and we had teams of 4 go head to head!

The teams were comprised of Ernie Dean employees as well as their significant others and for many it was their first time out on the curling ice!

It took a little getting used to, but once each team felt comfortable on the ice, their skills really started to shine through.

Don’t get us wrong, their were some spills, but everyone survived with only a few bruises and a brand new appreciation for the sport!

After a solid 2 hours of curling, the team was tired and ready to eat!

We all enjoyed a buffet style dinner which included roast beef, chicken, carrots, broccoli and cauliflower and of course horseradish and gravy!

For dessert we were treated to toffee bread and butter pudding with ice cream, YUMMY!

Some brave folk decided to try their hand at curling again after dinner with a little liquid courage and a full belly!
