Forward Collision Alert with Automatic Emergency Braking

Forward Collision Alert works on your GMC Sierra 1500 by warning you of a potential front-end collision with the vehicle you’re following behind. This imminent crash alert gives you time to act so you can make a swift recovery. It also features a tailgate alert, letting you know if you’re driving too close to the vehicle ahead. Automatic Emergency Braking works in concert with the collision alert, operating at speeds below 80 km/h and using camera tech to provide a hard brake or improve the driver’s brake, when needed.

Available on:

  • Sierra
  • SLE (needs Driver Alert Package I)
  • SLT (needs Driver Alert Package I or on SLT Premium Plus Package)
  • AT4
  • Denali (on Denali Ultimate Package)

Front Pedestrian Braking

While many of the Sierra 1500’s safety features are here to protect you and your vehicle, this one is available to protect pedestrians outside of your truck. Front Pedestrian Braking endeavours to prevent front-end collisions with pedestrians through alerts, allowing you to react, or hard braking on its own. This system works in the daytime at speeds below 80 km/h. It does perform in low visibility and at nighttime, but with limited performance.

Available on:

  • Sierra
  • SLE (needs Driver Alert Package I)
  • SLT (needs Driver Alert Package I or on SLT Premium Plus Package)
  • AT4
  • Denali (on Denali Ultimate Package)

Front & Rear Park Assist

The large size of your GMC Sierra 1500 provides many benefits and although on the outset it may seem like that same size may be a detriment when parking, there’s systems at work to help you avoid any obstacles and collisions. Available Front and Rear Park Assist works at low speeds when you’re parking, providing you with distance alerts from nearby obstacles, so you can easily avoid them and perfectly nestle into your space of choice.

Available on:

  • Sierra
  • SLE
  • Elevation
  • SLT (on SLT Premium Plus Package)
  • AT4 (on AT4 Premium Package)

Standard:

  • Denali

Adaptive Cruise Control

Your 2021 GMC Sierra 1500 is home to the new age of cruise control, with the Adaptive Cruise Control (with camera). How this system operates is by maintaining a driver-selected distance from the vehicle ahead, leaving it up to you to steer. This safety system makes highway driving much easier thanks to the reduced need to brake and accelerate, as your vehicle maintains this set distance.

Available on:

  • Sierra
  • SLE (needs Driver Alert Package I)
  • SLT (needs Driver Alert Package I or on SLT Premium Plus Package)
  • AT4
  • Denali (on Denali Ultimate Package) trims

Enhanced Trailering Assist

There’s a few features wrapped up in here, but think of it as representative of the incredible network of safety features the GMC Sierra 1500 contains for all of your trailering needs. These new and enhanced features for 2021 include new and improved camera views, as well as a jackknife alert.

  • Jackknife Alert: Monitors the trailer’s position in regards to the truck, displaying an alert if the trailer front approaches the rear of your truck in a jack-knife situation.
  • Trailer Length Indicator: Centre console displays an overlay on-screen to show you of any issues with nearby vehicles, and to provide a clearer picture of your space to work with should you want to change lanes.
  • Bed View: Shows a close-up view and hitch guidance for the cargo bed, perfect for gooseneck/fifth wheel alignment and hook up.
  • Rear Trailer View: Shows the view from behind your trailer, now with a trailer-angle indicator and guidelines to make reversing into a desired spot even easier.
  • Rear Side View: Shows a split screen view of the left and right side of your truck and trailer, so you can better position the trailer and avoid obstacles. Ability for use in reverse has been added for 2021.
